River Ouse Floods

This time of year in York, the River Ouse usually floods. This year, I managed to witness it. The photos below show the river nearly reaching a residential street.

Being stood at the top of the steps was quite eery, almost as if the water could come rushing up at any second or as if something dangerous was lurking below the water.... though I'm sure it was just fish and lost bicycles.
